ABOUT
Hi, hello, good evening.
My name is Tessa and I grew up in North East Victoria and moved to Melbourne for my studies. I hold a bachelor degree in design arts where I majored in fashion and costume design and sub-majored in graphic and digital design at LCI Melbourne. The world of art, creativity and imagination has always been an area I naturally gravitated towards in my formative years. Gradually, through a lot of trial and exploration, fashion has become the focal point of my personal life and career pursuit.
My design style has evolved to take on a classical, but modern day theme. I have deep interest in sustainability, high quality products and being socially and economically considerate in the fashion world. I have a keen eye for exploring bold colours and patterns but keeping the style and silhouettes timeless and trans-seasonal, taking into account our country’s diverse climate.
I would like to gain as much experience in the fashion world, culminating knowledge, techniques and inspiration from companies, brands and creative people, without deviating from my personal style. It is in the hope that I may grow as a creator and designer, yet stay true to the design philosophy that embodies my unique and fun style inspired by Australian casual aesthetic.
I currently work for Australia’s largest global retailer Cotton On Group in Geelong as a Product Developer 1. I aspire to create my own label in the near future and would like the brand to pay homage to my rural roots and design principles that attracted me to the fashion industry originally. Authenticity is of great value to me and I want a brand that has a foundation of honesty, expression, good old Aussie simplicity and service to the most important person in the fashion industry-the customer.
